Working together in Mikel's Studio

Today we worked on one of our door paintings in Mikel's studio. We decided that it would be a good idea to cut some pieces out of the door to add another dimension to our working process. We continued to mark up the surface and discussed the impact of the cut out pieces on the rest of the painting. We decided that it really didn't work as well as we thought it might and have more work to do in order to bring the cut outs into the flow of the piece. The process of two artists working together on the same piece is always an interesting one.

It's all about dimension and pushing the limits, but sometimes you have to reflect on exactly what you think the power of the right move is.
